How do I clean a brush after use?

It depends on the paint used:

  • Water-based paints: rinse immediately with lukewarm water and mild soap until the water runs clear. Gently squeeze the bristles and let the brush dry hanging or lying flat (never upright with the bristles pointing up).
  • Enamels and solvent-based varnishes: use the appropriate solvent (white spirit, cellulose thinner) to remove the product. Then wash with soap and water. Rinse well.

Common mistake: leaving the brush dirty even for just a few hours. Dried paint damages the bristles irreversibly.

What is the difference between short, medium and long pile rollers?

The main difference is the type of surface each roller works best on:

  • Short pile rollers (4-6 mm): ideal for perfectly smooth surfaces (filled plasterboard, painted wood, metal).
  • Medium pile rollers (8-12 mm): for lightly textured surfaces (standard plaster, already-painted walls).
  • Long pile rollers (14-18 mm): for rough or very porous surfaces (rustic plaster, raw concrete, external surfaces).
How do I choose the right brush for painting?

Choosing a professional brush depends on three factors: the type of paint to be applied, the surface to be treated and the desired finish. For water-based paints and emulsions, brushes with synthetic bristles are recommended, as they keep their elasticity even in the presence of moisture. For enamels and solvent-based varnishes, natural bristles ensure better paint loading and a more even release of the product.
